The Property
House Party in Klatovy
Luxury Accommodation in Bohemia, Czech Republic
Enjoy luxury country house accommodation in southwest Bohemia, just 75 minutes from Prague airport. Dating back to 1690, Ujezd is the oldest house in the village and retains many features from that time. An impressive arched gate is the original front entrance to the property and the former corn-house in the courtyard has been converted into a self-contained cottage.
The property forms a typical Bohemian courtyard and once inside you feel totally screened off from the world. The main house is furnished in a very modern, exquisitely simple way using natural stone and wood. In the house there are five double bedrooms with ensuites and one private family suite, each unique in style. The cottage comfortably sleeps four easily. The accommodation is also available on a self-catering basis.
Throughout the property there are traditional features and natural materials in individually designed rooms. Downstairs there is a stunning 20m dining room and library, a huge kitchen with its own tiled stove and a former cowshed at one end that has been converted into an impressive dining room seating 18. Here you can enjoy the superb home-cooked Czech cuisine using local game, organic produce and homegrown fruit, vegetables and herbs. On cooler evenings it’s the perfect spot to curl up next to the wood-burning stove with a glass of wine.
Beyond the main house are barns, fruit gardens and a Japanese-style garden with a secluded swimming pool, terraces and lovely hand-made wrought iron pergola. A gem to be discovered in the Czech countryside, Ujezd is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the Czech culture, history and landscape well away from the crowds.
